Winter warmers for your pet.

As the weather starts to get colder, canines and felines start to get the chills just like humans. Here are some tips to help prepare your pet for the cooler months.

Rug up
Although many of us have lush fur and plush coats, it's not a perfect insulator when it's very cold and especially if it is wet. Wearing suitable coats or winter hoodies that offer pets cover are a good idea as well. Puppies and kittens should generally be kept inside during very cold conditions and this also applies to older and ill pets as well.

Offer shelter
If your pet usually ventures outdoors, then make sure they have draft-free shelter from the elements to keep them warm at night or during an outside potty break.

Get reflective
Walk routines should continue during winter, but as evening walks turn into night walks with shorter days, it's a good idea to wear reflective clothing to make sure pets are seen.

Top up the essentials
Ensure your pet always has a supply of food and water during cooler months and be sure to monitor them for any signs of illness from colder weather.
